Portfolio:Universal Services
Campaign Goals:
- Create a trio of websites for Universal Services (USI) and the companies they own
- Improve site structure, responsiveness, and usability
- Create cutting-edge designs that better fit into their recent truck branding
- Produce a website which shows them as a large-scale company and industry leader
Here's how we helped them out
We built a trio of sites: A redesign for Universal Services (USI) and new sites for the two companies they own; JDR Technologies (JDR) and Universal Traffic Control (UTC).
WordPress Development
We developed a trio of WordPress sites that are unique, easy to navigate, and easy to customize. USI's had an out of date WordPress site for their own company and no existing site for the other two companies. We released the site with a bevy of new features, including integration with their hiring software. This allows them to continue posting jobs on their external software, and have them automatically update listings on their site. Each new site includes an enhanced blog, projects integration, and more.
Responsive Web Design
We worked with a framework that was responsive, and guaranteed to look great on every device and screen resolution. This allows users to have a positive experience regardless of whether they're viewing the site on a smartphone, tablet, or computer. We ran through extensive cross-browser and responsiveness checks to fix small details, and produced sites with an effective marketing funnel for all users.
Graphics/Visual Identity
Along with web design and development, we assisted Universal Services in a potential logo redesign for JDR, as well as translating truck branding and logo elements into website themes. With three sets of logos and different styles based on the industry, carefully planned usage and expansion of design elements was critical to the web design process.
User Experience Design
A website that doesn't deliver a positive user experience is bound to fail. We took User Experience into account at each stage of the site builds; in planning, while building, and after launch. We started with a strong site structure that made each page easy to find, utilizing cross-linking and a clean Mega Menu. We did cross-browser checks to avoid any hidden content, and performed a number of speed performance upgrades to improve page load times. Each site now has a logical structure that leads users where they want to be.
Search Engine Optimization
While SEO wasn't the #1 concern for Universal Services, but everyone wants to rank higher in search engines. We utilized a variety of techniques to create a site that would rank well, including a well-defined site structure, comprehensive keyword research, specially written content throughout the site, optimized titles and descriptions, and much more. Targeted keywords will be tracked post-launch so we know where to make adjustments.
