Today is Google’s 13th birthday and marks the beginning of its teenage years. Since it was created, Google has had an interesting history full of trial and error, a drive to be creative, a priority to have fun, and unbelievable growth since it’s creation.
We’re excited to see what Google and (newly released to the public) Google+ will be up to during their mischievous teen years. For example, it has already incorporated the popular Facebook game CityVille to Google+, which tempted over many Facebook users who didn’t want to lose their games. This, and some other tricks up their sleeve, have had a part in the traffic to Google+ increasing by 1269% in just one week. What better birthday party than 15 million visitors swarming onto Google+ from the United States alone?
In the marketing and web worlds, we greatly appreciate Google and all it’s done for changing the face of search engine optimization, giving us time-saving Google Alerts and offering free Google Analytics to websites. We just can’t thank Google and all its applications enough for making our worlds easier, exciting and always-changing. Happy 13th Google!
