Most people are familiar with the term SEO (Search Engine Optimization), but do you ever wonder if you are maximizing your SEO potential? One of our clients recently inquired about SEO plugins and whether they are something to which he should be paying attention. Check out what our marketing specialist had to say about the matter.
Q: I noticed that I have an SEO plugin located in my WordPress dashboard — Is this something that I should be using?
A: The SEO plugin allows you to control what search engines see for the title, description and keywords of a post. It is a nice option to have, although WordPress already optimizes your content to show up in the best possible way for search engines. Using keyword-rich titles, text content and tags is the most important way to stay optimized for all search engines. If within Google Webmaster Tools or Google Analytics you are seeing low click-through rate for your search engine listings, you may want to spend more time with your description.
