Over the last 24 hours, WordPress.org pushed out an update that includes an important security release. WordPress.org posted an article yesterday about the contents of this update. Here are the highlights:
- Fixed a weakness discovered by the WordPress security team that could allow someone to force their way into your site.
- Fixed a problem with users set to ‘Contribute’ being able to improperly publish posts
- Fixed 9 bugs from the prior release
- Implemented three new changes to harden security
