For business-to-business (B2B) companies, it isn’t as fast and easy to grow a social media presence as it is for business-to-consumer (B2C) companies. Here are some reasons why B2B companies should invest in social media.
B2B marketers who use Twitter generate twice as many leads as those who do not. Eighty-two percent of employees (people currently working) say they trust a company more when the CEO and leadership team communicate via social media. Ninety percent of small businesses are on Facebook and post at least once per week. Small and medium B2B companies with at least 50 Twitter followers generate twice as many leads and benefit more from social media marketing than larger businesses. Eighty-two percent of leads generated through social media are referred from Twitter. Also, over half of the companies that blog have fifty-five percent more website visitors than those without a blog.
LinkedIn is the most important social media channel to use if you are marketing for B2B company. Fifty-seven percent of B2B companies say they have generated sales through LinkedIn. Forty-five percent of B2B companies have gained at least one customer from using LinkedIn. Also, sixty percent of Internet users use LinkedIn as their primary professional networking site. So, if you are on LinkedIn, your business page will be exposed to at least sixty percent of the Internet: That’s a lot of exposure!
Eighty-six percent of the B2B world has included social media as part of their overall marketing efforts: You should too!
