Orton-Gillingham of Minnesota

Orton-Gillingham of Minnesota is a non-profit that trains teachers in the Orton-Gillingham method of teaching reading, spelling and writing. This is a scientifically researched and evidence-based effective reading intervention methodology that helps struggling readers of any age learn to read. Orton-Gillingham of MN was founded in 2006 by a group of instructors with the mission of providing quality training in the Orton-Gillingham method. Summer and Fall sessions of courses are held in the Twin Cities, currently in Eagan. The courses offer 50 hours of training, 18 hours of the 50 are with students in a practicum. The training is high quality. Orton-Gillingham of MN’s only revenue comes from the teachers’ tuition. The non-profit is struggling to find extra funding to create a website which will allow online registration for our courses, and to keep viable and visible with marketing and promotion. Orton-Gilllingham of MN wishes to reach as many classroom teachers as possible in MN to give them the tools through Orton-Gillingham methology to truly and significantly help the literacy crisis in our schools and therefore help our children. D&M Consultants, Inc.

D & M Consultants, Inc. has been serving Southeast Michigan since 1986. Providing Mental Health supports along with a large array of services, D & M Consultants, Inc. is highly recognized as an agency providing superior services to its clients. The year 2008 brought changes to D & M Consultants, Inc.with services being provided to newly released individuals who are returning to their communities from one of the many prisons in the state. Individuals served via “Reentry” have been diagnosed with a mental health condition. An updated website will only enhance D & M ‘s services, allowing the community to get a better understanding of the Mission, Vision and Values that D & M Consultants, Inc. embraces everyday. Vote for them here.

Kids ‘n Kinship

Kids ‘n Kinship provides friendships and positive role models to children and youth ages 5-16 who are in need of an additional supportive relationship with an adult. This dedicated group is empowering volunteers, families and youth to maximize skills and resources to build a stronger community.
