The Longevity Link leads readers to the Fountain of Youth
The Longevity Link is a group of experts with a clear vision on how to preserve good health and have prolonged longevity. As the baby boomer generation grows older and the average age of an American increases, issues associated aging such as healthcare costs, social security and preventing disability and disease arise as well.
The Longevity Link needed a PowerSite that is able to support numerous authors and article topics in an organized, easy-to-read design.
The homepage highlights important articles, automatically displays recent article entries and shows featured articles in two locations for multiple access points. To catch readers’ attention, the most recent featured article is highlighted with a large photo, headline and excerpt. Older articles are pushed to the right side and displayed below as photos and headlines. These articles are displayed on an arrow-controlled slider, allowing readers to easily scroll through and browse for interesting topics. This homepage provides readers with a range of appealing content and photos, as well as various article topics in easily-accessible places.
The Longevity Link experts cover a diverse range of topics, including health, exercise, supplements, concussions, brain and spine health and sports medicine, as well as timely topics in the news. Each expert has their full biography and photo attached to their articles so readers can easily view their work. The Longevity Link Editor was created to allow generic posting of news articles about the experts in a quick, easy-to-manage way. Each post from the Longevity Link Editor utilizes a noticeable pull-quote section which cross-links to other articles and short summaries of the links.
Articles also contain a “share this” section which allows readers to “like” the article on Facebook, share it through email, retweet it, print it or share it using social bookmarking tools. The sidebars also automatically pull in related articles based on category, author and tags, giving readers a variety of ways to see the site’s growing content library.
