 Checkerboard began as a division of Media Relations, Inc. (MRI), the country’s top performance-based public relations firm. Established in 1988, MRI was founded on the simple premise of providing results-oriented, well-executed public relations programs. It soon became an industry leader for its ability to secure positive and effective media coverage for its clients, which include Fortune 500 corporations as well as small to mid-size companies.
Working within MRI, we quickly became experts at providing clients with well-integrated marketing campaigns that included an online presence. By 2000, we had become our own company. During this time we had developed the skills and instincts necessary to develop flexible, creative Internet solutions for our rapidly expanding and diverse client base.
We continue to work closely with our MRI associates, both as consultants and as recipients of their expertise. This gives our clients some rare advantages. They have the benefit of working with an elite team of professionals proficient in the most up-to-date Internet technology, as well as sales, marketing and public relations.
Checkerboard Advertising Services was founded in 2004 to formally define the expertise that we had been providing our clients for many years. The combination of Internet services and advertising makes good sense for our clients.
